NamuSearcher - Direkte Suche auf Namuwiki

NamuSearcher is a free Chrome add-on that allows users to quickly search for desired content on the popular Korean website, Namuwiki. Namuwiki is currently ranked 7th in website traffic in South Korea, making it a beloved site among many Koreans. While it may be challenging to obtain professional and reliable information from Namuwiki, it offers several advantages that set it apart from other search engines.

One of the most notable advantages is the vast amount of information available. With a multitude of user-generated and edited articles, Namuwiki covers a wide range of topics that are often difficult to find on other search engines. This makes it a valuable resource for finding well-organized information on niche subjects. As a result, many people use Namuwiki for quick and efficient searches when they come across something of interest while browsing the web.

However, in today's fast-paced society where every second counts, I found myself frustrated even when using such an efficient site. Typically, when I want to search for something on Namuwiki while browsing, I would open a new tab, navigate to Namuwiki, and then enter the desired text to initiate the search. While some may consider this a reasonable effort to obtain information, I wanted to save even a few seconds of this process. After contemplating various solutions, I decided to create this browser extension.

Once installed, NamuSearcher adds a "Search on Namuwiki" button that appears when you right-click and select any text you want to search for. Clicking on this button opens a new tab with the relevant Namuwiki article for the selected text. This feature works on any website that allows text selection and right-clicking.
